► Hands Position and Shaft Lean Tips – Video Summary
When your hands are well positioned at address the butt end of your club should point towards your left hip bone. This means that your hands should be in front of the golf ball almost always. This also means that the angle of your shaft should point towards the target. This shaft position is referred to as shaft lean, or leaning your shaft forward. Positioning your hands thusly will insure that you promote a good and reliable strike at the golf ball.
If your hands are located too much in front then a lower ball flight will be produced and inconsistency issues will arise.
If your hands are located too far back then this hands position will promote scooping the ball.
